The 1.5 kW (2 HP) variable speed drive for 220 V three-phase is a frequency inverter that alters the frequency to slow or speed the pump motor. It is rated at 7.0 A, a higher current than the 380 V version of the same power, because of the lower voltage. The pump then delivers the duty the application needs at that moment. How do I know it suits my pump motor?

Check the motor nameplate for kW, voltage, phase and current. This drive is 1.5 kW, 220 V three-phase and 7.0 A. Send us a photo of the nameplate and we will confirm before you order.

Why is the current higher than the 380 V drive?

For the same power, a lower voltage draws more current, so the 220 V drive is rated at 7.0 A against 3.7 A for the 380 V version. Wire and protect accordingly.

Is this a two horsepower drive?

Yes, 1.5 kW is the 2 HP size. Match it to a motor of the same rating or smaller, and ask us if the motor is a different make.
