Overview

The DYB-100 220V is a mains-powered rotary-vane pump that moves diesel and paraffin at 100 litres a minute. It is the one to choose when you have a fixed power point and want to fill bowsers and tankers quickly. As a 220v diesel pump at 100 l/min it moves a 1000 litre tank in around ten minutes.

Where it works

Large farms in the Free State and North West use mains diesel pumps like this at the fuel store, transferring from a tanker into bulk tanks after each delivery. Transport depots in Gauteng and Durban fill delivery trucks from underground or above-ground tanks. Mining contractors with a workshop supply use it at the diesel point. When the grid drops, a generator of 2 kVA or more will keep it going.

Questions about this product

How long to fill a 1000 litre tank with this pump?

At the rated 100 litres a minute it takes about ten minutes. Real-world time is a little longer because hose length, lift height and a dirty inlet filter all reduce flow. Keep the suction hose short and straight, and clean the strainer before a big transfer.

Can I use it with a generator during load-shedding?

Yes. It draws 600 W when running, so a generator of 2 kVA or more is a safe match because induction motors pull extra at start-up. Use an earthed lead, and place the generator well away from fuel containers and spilt diesel.

Will it pump petrol or only diesel?

Diesel and paraffin only. The motor is a standard AC unit, not explosion-proof, so it must not be used with petrol. Our EX series explosion-proof pumps are the right choice for petrol, and we can help you choose the correct size.

What is the delivery cost to Rustenburg or the Karoo?
