The DYB-80 220V is a mains-powered rotary-vane pump that moves 70 to 80 litres of diesel a minute and pulls fuel up from a tank as deep as 5 m. Its slow-turning 750 W motor suits long daily runs at a fuel point. As a 750w diesel transfer pump it is the heavy-duty mains choice in this range.

Where it works

Large grain farms in the Free State and North West fit pumps like this at fixed fuel stores where the bulk tank stands low or underground. Depots in Gauteng, Durban and Cape Town use them to fill fleet vehicles throughout the day. Mine workshops with mains supply use them at the diesel station. During load-shedding, a generator of 2 kVA or more will drive it. Diesel and paraffin only.

Questions about this product

How deep can this pump draw from?

The suction lift is 5 m, which is deeper than most pumps in this range. In practice, keep the suction hose short, airtight and fitted with a foot valve, because every joint and metre of lift reduces flow. A deeper tank may need a different installation.

Can I run it from a generator?

Yes. A generator of 2 kVA or more is a safe match for the 750 W motor, since induction motors draw extra at start-up. Use an earthed lead and place the generator well away from fuel, spills and vapour.

Is it suitable for petrol?

No. It is for diesel and paraffin only. The AC motor is not explosion-proof, so petrol vapour would be a fire risk. For petrol, ask about our EX series of explosion-proof pumps.

What does delivery cost to a Free State farm?
