Can I order a diesel tank or bowser online and have it delivered to Secunda?

Yes. Kamano sells diesel storage tanks, bowsers, fuel transfer pumps and water equipment online, with prices in rand that include 15% VAT, and delivers to Secunda on its own trucks from the Polokwane yard. Orders usually arrive within 1 to 2 business days of dispatch. We do not use couriers, so a loaded bowser or a large tank is handled by the same crew from the yard to your gate. Pay by EFT and the order is dispatched once payment reflects. Delivery costs R550 for parcels up to 30 kg and is free on orders of R20,000 or more, with anything over 100 kg quoted. Kamano has one yard, in Polokwane, so there is no Secunda branch and no collection point, but we deliver to workshops, contractors, farms and homes in the town and the Highveld around it. What Secunda buyers order most from us, and why

Secunda is dominated by the large Sasol synfuels complex, and an ecosystem of contractors, transport firms and workshops has grown up around it. Outside town, the Highveld is grain and livestock country. Between the two, buyers want fuel handling first and water second.

Delivery to Secunda: times and costs

From Polokwane the trucks run south-east through Middelburg and onto the Highveld roads to Secunda. The Highveld is inside our Mpumalanga zone, so the usual time is 1 to 2 business days.

Farm diesel demand is seasonal. It spikes at planting and again at harvest, so size a tank to carry you through the busiest fortnight rather than an average week. Many Highveld farms choose a vertical tank from 5,000 litres, mounted on a stand so that a gravity-fed hose can fill a bakkie or tractor without a pump. If you want metering, add a transfer pump with a flow meter, so you can see what each machine uses.

For contractors who move between sites, a diesel bowser from R2,013 is more practical than a fixed tank. Look for a filter and a meter, and fit a lockable outlet. Fuel theft is a real concern on rural stands, so choose a tank with a lockable cap and keep it near the house or yard. Cold Highveld winters can thicken diesel and ice up outdoor taps, so keep fittings sheltered. Add spill containment to protect the ground. Have a local plumber and electrician do the installation.
