Description
Overview
This hollow block mould is a single-cavity steel mould with an electric vibrator, making one hollow cement block per drop on a standard 220V supply. You fill it with mix, vibrate to compact, lift the mould and move it along, leaving the block to cure where it stands.
Hollow blocks use less mix than solid ones and leave cores for reinforcing or services, which is why they are common for boundary walls and outbuildings. A single-drop mould is slow next to a full machine, but it costs a fraction of the price. When output matters more, step up to the electric 6-drop stock brick mould or the two-cavity retaining block machine.
Key features
- One hollow block per drop
- Electric vibrator for even compaction
- Runs on 220V mains or a suitable generator
- Steel construction that cleans off easily at the end of a shift
- Small footprint, fits in a bakkie
Where it works
A hollow block mould suits homeowners building a boundary wall or outbuilding in rural Limpopo or KZN, community projects, and people testing a block-making business before buying a bigger machine. It needs a level concrete slab, a 220V supply and a supply of sand, cement and water. Two people can work it comfortably: one mixing and loading, one vibrating and lifting the mould. Delivery and warranty
Kamano delivers with its own trucks from Polokwane to all nine provinces, usually in 1 to 3 days. This mould ships at 49 kg, which puts it in the 30 to 60 kg band at R950; orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.) travel free. Ask us for the warranty terms on this model.
Questions about this product
Can I run it off a generator during load-shedding?
Yes. The vibrator runs on 220V, so a suitable petrol or diesel generator will keep it working when the grid is down. Ask us for the motor rating before you choose a generator so it has enough capacity for start-up. Many small yards run a generator for the whole shift anyway.
What does 1 drop mean on a block mould?
One drop means the mould makes one block each time you fill, vibrate and lift it. A 4-drop or 6-drop machine makes four or six blocks per cycle. A single-drop mould is slower but much cheaper, so it suits small projects and people starting out.
