Description

Overview

The Aqua Max MY71C-2 is a 0.75 kW (1 HP) self-priming swimming pool pump that circulates and filters pool water for residential pools up to 60,000 litres when paired with a suitable 3-bag sand filter. It combines a closed vane impeller, a heavy-duty induction motor and an integrated leaf trap, and it is one of the most popular pump sizes for home pools. Compare other sizes under pool and pond pumps.

The self-priming design means it starts quickly and runs smoothly day after day.

Key features

0.75 kW (1 HP) motor, 230 to 240 V single-phase
Self-priming centrifugal design with closed vane impeller
Integrated leaf trap and strainer basket catch leaves and insects
Transparent lid for quick inspection and cleaning
Heavy-duty induction motor with durable ball bearings
Corrosion-resistant housing, suitable for chlorine and saltwater pools
Compatible with standard 50 mm pool plumbing

Where it works

It fits a new pool installation or a straight replacement of an old pump, and it is well matched to family pools in Gauteng, KZN and the Western Cape where leaves, dust and insects clog filters fast. The large strainer basket protects the pump and cuts maintenance, so the filter and impeller last longer.

If you want to run your pool off the sun, look at the TSP500 solar pool pump or the 750 W Speck solar pump. Fit a weir basket such as this one at the skimmer to catch debris before it reaches the pump.

Questions about this product

What size pool will a 0.75 kW pump run?

It is suited to residential pools up to 60,000 litres, provided it is paired with a suitable 3-bag sand filter. If the pool is larger or has many spa jets, send us the volume and we will check.

Can I use it on a saltwater pool?

Yes. The housing is corrosion resistant and suitable for both chlorine and saltwater pools. Rinse the strainer basket regularly and keep an eye on the lid seal.

Does it prime itself?

Yes, it is a self-priming centrifugal pump, so it starts quickly once the strainer housing has water in it. Keep the lid seal clean and tight for the best suction.

Do you deliver pool pumps to Pietermaritzburg?

Yes. Kamano delivers from Polokwane to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days, including Pietermaritzburg. At about 13.5 kg it falls in the up-to-30 kg band at R550, and orders of R20,000 or more are delivered free.
