Speck BADU Solar Smart Pool Pump, 750 W, 72 V DC, MPPT

Description

Overview

The Speck BADU Solar Smart is a 750 W solar pool pump that runs your filtration from solar panels and adjusts its own speed to the sunlight available. A brushless permanent-magnet DC motor, a built-in variable speed drive and an MPPT solar controller sit in one unit, so there is no separate controller to buy. It suits pool owners who want a solar pool pump that keeps the water turning without a grid bill or a worry about load-shedding.

Where it works

This pump earns its keep where the sun is strong: Limpopo, North West, the Free State and the Northern Cape give long pumping days, and Gauteng and KZN pools do well too. It suits homes, guest lodges and estates that want to cut daytime filtration costs and keep the pool circulating through outages.

Panels are not included. The manufacturer recommends 2 x 550 W panels, or 4 x 380 W panels wired two in series and two in parallel, and your installer should confirm the wiring. For a smaller solar option see the TSP500 solar pool pump, or for a mains pump see the 0.75 kW Aqua Max pool pump.

What’s in the box

• 1 x solar pool pump (750 W, 72 V DC)
• Not included: solar panels and the optional grid power converter
