Description

Overview

The 0.55 kW Swimflo 2 is a self-priming pool pump with a 0.6 kW motor (model SFP60), built to circulate water through pools of up to 30,000 litres. It suits small to medium residential pools where you want steady flow without a big electricity bill. It sits happily above or below ground on any stable, level surface and pairs best with a 2-bag sand filter. See the full pool and pond pumps range for bigger pools.

Compared with the older generation, it has a high-efficiency motor, a composite stainless-steel shaft and a 3/4 inch ceramic shaft seal, so it runs smoother and quieter.

Key features

0.6 kW high-efficiency motor driving a 0.55 kW pump end
Self-priming, so it restarts after backwashing without fuss
Reduced vibration for quiet running next to the house
Corrosion-resistant components for harsh pool water
Composite stainless-steel shaft and 3/4 inch ceramic shaft seal
Low-profile twist-and-lock lid for fast basket cleaning
Fits most standard small-pool filtration setups

Where it works

This is the pump for the family pool in a Gauteng or Mpumalanga back garden, a guest-house plunge pool, or a small splash pool setup. Install it on level ground away from areas that flood during summer storms, and keep the plug point dry.

If you need more flow for a bigger pool, step up to the 0.75 kW Superflo 2. Installation must be done by a qualified electrician.

Questions about this product

What size pool does a 0.55 kW pump suit?

It is rated for pools up to 30,000 litres, which covers most small and medium home pools. Pair it with a 2-bag sand filter. If your pool is larger, or you run a heater or chlorinator in line, move up to a bigger Swimflo 2 or Superflo 2.

Do you deliver a pool pump to Polokwane or Durban?

Yes. Our own trucks run from Polokwane to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days, including Durban, Cape Town and Gqeberha. At about 10 kg this pump falls in the up to 30 kg band at R550, and orders of R20,000 or more go free.

Can I install it myself?

The plumbing connections use built-in unions and are simple. The electrical connection must be done by a qualified electrician for safety and compliance. Mount it on a level, stable base away from flood-prone spots.

Is it self-priming?

Yes. It draws water up and starts pumping on its own, so it works installed above or below water level, which helps after backwashing or when the basket has been opened.
