Overview
The polypropylene barrel insert nipple (codes VET261 to VET266) joins Class 3 and Class 6 low-density polyethylene (LDPE) pipe to threaded fittings such as valves, taps and pump connections. A nylon insert gives the grip, and the polypropylene body resists corrosion, chemicals and UV.
It comes in six sizes from 15 mm to 50 mm and keeps the bore open for good flow, so it works in irrigation, agricultural supply and municipal or domestic reticulation. Which pipe does the barrel insert nipple fit?
It is made for Class 3 and Class 6 low-density polyethylene (LDPE) pipe. The nylon insert grips the pipe from the inside and the polypropylene body gives a leak-resistant connection to a threaded part. It is not intended for hard PVC or steel pipe.
How do I pick the right size?
Match the nipple to the nominal size of your LDPE pipe: 15, 20, 25, 32, 40 or 50 mm. Each size has its own product code, from VET261 for 15 mm to VET266 for 50 mm. If you are unsure which pipe class you have, send us the markings on the pipe.
