Overview
Baffle balls for tanks are hollow plastic floats that you drop into a transport tank to break up liquid surge, and this 170 mm clip-lock version is sized for slimline and smaller tanks of 1500 L or less. When a part-full tank brakes or turns, the liquid slams from one end to the other and shoves the vehicle with it. A tank packed with baffle balls breaks that wave into many small movements, so the load stays calmer and the driver keeps control. Fewer surges also mean less punishment for brakes, tyres, springs, the chassis and the tank itself.

How many baffle balls do I need for a 1000 L bowser?
Fill the tank with balls until they sit packed together from the floor to the top, because they only work when they fill the space. Each ball takes up about 8.5 L of room, so a 1000 L tank usually needs well over a hundred. Send us the tank size and opening diameter and we will work out a quantity before you order.
Will baffle balls reduce how much water or diesel I can carry?
Only a little. Each ball is hollow, and once a tank is fully packed the plastic itself takes up less than 1% of the tank volume. In a 1000 L tank you lose under 10 L of carrying capacity, which most operators never notice against the gain in stability on the road.
How much is delivery for a box of baffle balls?
One ball ships at about 0.2 kg, so even a large order stays light, but the boxes are bulky. Orders up to 30 kg sit in the R550 band, 30 to 60 kg in the R950 band. Our trucks deliver from Polokwane to any province in 1 to 3 days, free on orders of R20,000 or more.
