Description
Overview
This 2 mm painted steel drip tray sits under a tank or piece of equipment and catches whatever drips or leaks out of it. It is made from steel plate, painted for weather protection, and is a practical choice where a plastic tray would crack or deform under the load.
The tray is sold to suit tanks, and sizes vary with the tank it protects. We do not yet have a confirmed footprint, depth or sump volume for this one, so ask us before you order and we will confirm the dimensions and shipping weight in writing.
A drip tray is the last line of defence, not the first. Fix the leak, then use the tray to stop the mess spreading while you do.
Key features
- 2 mm steel plate construction
- Painted finish for outdoor use
- Open tray form, easy to inspect and wipe out
- Suits tanks, generators and small bowsers where leaks need containing
- Can be cleaned and re-used after a leak
Where it works
Under diesel tanks on Limpopo farms, beneath generator sets at remote Mpumalanga mine sites, and beside the compressors and pumps of Gauteng workshops where a floor drain is nearby.
Where you need a full bund under a drum or IBC, see our spill containment pallets. A spill cage suits bulk containers, and a 100 L spill containment tray is a lighter plastic alternative for small jobs.

Questions about this product
What size is this drip tray?
We are still confirming the exact length, width and depth for this tray, so we do not want you ordering blind. Send us the footprint of your tank and we will confirm whether this tray fits before you pay. Dimensions and shipping weight are shown as on request.
Is it steel or plastic?
It is steel, made from 2 mm plate and painted. That makes it stiffer than a plastic tray and better for heavier equipment. Painted steel needs a touch-up if the paint is scratched, especially where it holds fuel or water for long periods.
How much will delivery cost?
Delivery is priced by total order weight. Up to 30 kg is R550, 30 to 60 kg is R950, 60 to 100 kg is R1,450 and above 100 kg is on quotation. Once we confirm this tray's weight we will tell you which band applies. Orders of R20,000 or more go free.
Can I use it under a diesel tank?
Yes, that is the typical job. It catches drips and small leaks from fittings, valves and hoses. For a tank that must hold the whole contents if it fails, you need a proper bund, so ask us about bunded tanks or spill pallets instead.
