Overview

This is a 4 inch brushless DC (BLDC) submersible motor rated 2.2 kW at 300 V DC, built to be driven by the TGP hybrid solar inverter. It fits the standard 4 inch 4SD pump ends and goes into boreholes of 100 mm and larger, so you can turn a borehole pump into a solar pump, and Kamano delivers it nationwide.

The motor does not come with a controller. You pair it with the TGP hybrid inverter, which is sold separately, and the inverter takes care of solar input and AC backup.

On panels, the manufacturer specifies 9 x 550 W solar panels for this motor, about 4,950 W in total. Smaller panels mean you need more of them, and your installer can confirm the wiring for your site.

Where it works

The 2.2 kW motor is for the deeper, higher-head boreholes: mine camps, big stock farms and municipal supplies that want a hybrid solar pump.

Delivery and warranty

Kamano delivers with its own trucks from Polokwane to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days, including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Mbombela, Rustenburg and Cape Town. This item ships at about 14 kg, so it sits in the lightest delivery band. Delivery fees are by total order weight: up to 30 kg R550, 30 to 60 kg R950, 60 to 100 kg R1,450, and over 100 kg on quotation. Orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.) are delivered free. Pump end, panels and inverter are sold separately. Ask us for the warranty terms on this model.
