Description

Overview

The BWD12-40 is the larger of the two variable speed booster pumps, with a built-in drive and a pressure transducer that holds pressure constant while demand changes. Where the 1.1 kW model suits a house, this one is sized for lodges, offices and irrigation lines.

It runs at 2.2 kW on a 230 V single-phase supply (drive range 200 V ± 20%, 50/60 Hz). Maximum head is 70 m and the rated duty is 12 m³/h at 35 m, with a peak flow of 17 m³/h and top speed of 4500 rpm. Ports are 2″ (50 mm). The same comfort features carry over: pre-wired 3-point plug, 3-second restart delay and auto-rotation. For a smaller pump, look at the 1.1 kW BWD5-40 or the RUC-1100 smart booster.

Where it works

Use it for clean water duties: a guest lodge in Limpopo, an office block in Gauteng, a packhouse or irrigation head in the Western Cape, handling water from 2 to 80 °C. Install it in a ventilated, undercover spot away from sun, rain and irrigation spray, with rigid pipework rated to 6 bar and an airtight suction line. Drain the casing in freezing weather. What is the difference between the BWD12-40 and the BWD5-40?

The BWD12-40 is 2.2 kW with 2" ports, 70 m max head and up to 17 m³/h. The BWD5-40 is 1.1 kW with 1.25" ports, 85 m max head and up to 9.5 m³/h. Pick on the flow you need first, then check head.

Does it need a pressure tank?

The built-in pressure transducer and drive hold the pressure for you, so you do not need a conventional pressure tank to get steady delivery. Keep the suction line airtight and primed.

Can you deliver to George?
