Overview

The SSP-100 is a self-priming horizontal multistage pump with a permanent magnet motor and variable speed control, drawing between 100 W and 750 W depending on demand. It pressurises clean water for homes, small buildings and light irrigation, and it primes itself, so it copes with a suction line that is not flooded.

Where it works

Typical jobs are boosting house pressure from a rainwater tank in KZN, feeding a small drip or micro-sprinkler zone on a Western Cape smallholding, supplying a garden tap line or a water-treatment skid. Keep to clean water: the limits are pH 6.5 to 8.5, solids under 0.1% by volume and particles under 0.2 mm, so it is not a borehole sand pump. Install it with a union on each port so it can be taken off for service, and keep it dry and shaded. Is the SSP-100 really self-priming?

Yes. It is a self-priming horizontal multistage pump, so it can pull water up from a lower tank or sump without you flooding the casing first. Make sure the suction line is airtight and uses a foot valve or non-return valve, and fill the pump on first start-up so it primes quickly.
