Description
Overview
This V block mould is a single-cavity steel hand mould that forms one V block or modular block per press. Pack in a damp cement mix, press it down by hand, lift the mould away and leave the block to cure.
V blocks are bigger than bricks, so a wall builds quickly with fewer units. The hand mould keeps start-up cost low while you learn mixing and curing. When demand grows, the manual 3-drop V block machine gives three blocks per drop with a lever press.
Key features
- Single V block or modular block cavity
- Hand pressed with no motor
- Steel construction
- Very light and easy to store
- Simple enough for a new team member
Where it works
Use the V block mould for boundary walls in rural Limpopo, outbuildings and stores on farms, and small community builds where blocks are made on the spot. It also suits a builder who needs a few hundred blocks for one job. For brick-sized units, the hand-pressed stock brick mould is the companion piece, and all our brick making machines are listed in one place.
Good results from a hand mould come down to three habits. Measure the cement by the bucket every batch so the units match, keep the mix damp rather than wet so nothing slumps when you lift, and wipe the cavities clean every few presses. Cure the units in shade under plastic for about a week. Those habits matter more than the steel itself.

Questions about this product
What is a V block used for?
V blocks are larger cement blocks used for walling: boundary walls, outbuildings and low-cost houses. Because each block covers more wall area than a brick, you lay fewer units and less mortar. Ask your builder about the strength needed if the wall will carry a roof.
What mix should I use for V blocks?
A common starting point is about 1 part cement to 6 to 8 parts sand or crusher dust, mixed damp rather than wet. Squeeze a handful: it should hold together without dripping. Cure the blocks damp under plastic for about a week before stacking.
