Description
Overview
This maxi brick machine presses five maxi bricks per drop with a hand lever. Fill the mould, pull the lever to compact the mix, then release the five bricks to cure on the slab.
It sits between hand moulds and electric machines: much faster than pressing two at a time, but with no motor to power or service. Maxi bricks build walls quickly, so this is a common choice for small yards selling to local builders. For stock bricks, the manual 6-drop stock brick machine is the twin model.
Key features
- Five maxi brick cavities
- Lever-operated press
- No electricity needed
- Steel construction
- Moves easily around the yard
Where it works
This maxi brick machine suits small brickyards in Limpopo villages, builders making bricks on site for a house, and farms building staff houses, stores and walls. It keeps working through load-shedding. For hollow blocks in the same yard, the manual 1-drop hollow block machine is a low-cost addition. Our full list of brick making machines covers electric options too.
A lever machine rewards a steady rhythm. Put one person on the mixer, one on filling and pressing, and one carrying to the curing area, and output climbs quickly. Grease the pivot points weekly, scrape the mould clean at the end of each day, and measure cement by the bucket so every batch matches the last.

Questions about this product
How many maxi bricks a day can it make?
With a mixer and a crew of three, output on a five-drop machine depends on your team and how close the mix and curing area are. Start slower while the team learns, then speed up.
What mix should I use for maxi bricks?
Many yards begin around 1 part cement to 6 to 8 parts sand or crusher dust, mixed damp so it holds together when squeezed. Make a few test bricks, cure them for a week and check them before full production. Keep the mix the same batch after batch.
How much is delivery to Mahikeng?
