Description
Overview
This hand maxi brick mould is a steel mould with two maxi-size cavities. You pack in a damp cement mix, press it down by hand, then lift the mould off to leave two maxi bricks standing on the slab.
Maxi bricks are taller than stock bricks, so a wall rises faster with fewer units. Pressing two at a time doubles your pace compared with a single mould, without the cost of a machine. If you outgrow it, the manual 5-drop maxi brick machine gives you five bricks per drop with a lever press.
Key features
- Two maxi brick cavities
- Hand pressed, no motor
- Steel body that cleans with water and a brush
- Light enough to carry with one hand
- Simple to learn on day one
Where it works
The hand maxi brick mould suits rural builders in Limpopo and KZN making bricks for a family home, farm teams building small sheds or kraal walls, and anyone who wants bricks on site where trucks struggle to reach. Pair it with the manual 6-drop stock brick machine when customers want both sizes, or look through our full range of brick making machines.
Good results from a hand mould come down to three habits. Measure the cement by the bucket every batch so the units match, keep the mix damp rather than wet so nothing slumps when you lift, and wipe the cavities clean every few presses. Cure the units in shade under plastic for about a week. Those habits matter more than the steel itself.

Questions about this product
How many maxi bricks can I make in a day by hand?
With a mixer and a helper, a steady worker can make a few hundred bricks a day with a two-cavity mould. Mixing by spade halves that. Output depends on your crew, not the mould, so plan the slab and curing space for your real pace.
What mix should I use for hand-pressed maxi bricks?
Start with about 1 part cement to 6 to 8 parts clean river sand or crusher dust, mixed just damp enough to hold its shape when squeezed. Too wet and the bricks slump when you lift the mould. Test a few bricks and adjust before a full production day.
Can you deliver to a farm near Musina?
Yes. The mould ships at 11 kg, which puts it in the up to 30 kg band at R550 to a farm near Musina or anywhere else in South Africa. Our own trucks run from Polokwane and normally arrive in 1 to 3 days. Orders of R20,000 or more including VAT are delivered free.
