Overview

The CPM190 is a single-stage end-suction centrifugal pump with a 1.5 kW, 220 V single-phase motor and a maximum head of 40 m. It boosts household water pressure, transfers water between tanks and runs garden irrigation. This listing is the pump only, so a flow controller or pressure tank kit has to be added for automatic starting and stopping.

The listed performance is 39 m at 10 L/min, 37.1 m at 30 L/min, 35 m at 50 L/min, 33.8 m at 60 L/min, 31.3 m at 80 L/min, 27.2 m at 100 L/min and 22.2 m at 120 L/min. The head stays high across the range, so it copes when several taps or sprinklers are running. Ten metres of head is about 1 bar. Pick a pump whose head at your flow is comfortably above your total lift plus pipe friction. The body is cast iron, the impeller is brass. Where it works

Typical uses are pushing tank water to a large house in Gqeberha, feeding a small orchard sprinkler system in the Eastern Cape, and moving water between tanks on a farm near Klerksdorp. It needs clean water with no abrasive particles and must stand under a vented cover, away from rain and spray.
