This 0.55 kW peripheral pump kit gives 50 L/min (3 m³/h) at up to 48 m head, with an automatic switch that starts it when a tap opens and stops it when flow ends.

It sits between the 0.37 kW and 0.75 kW peripheral kits. At 12.1 kg net it is light enough to handle on your own. Other pumps are in water pumps and booster pumps.

Where it works

Installation notes: mount the pump on rubber feet near the water source, with a short airtight suction line and a foot valve and strainer if it lifts water. This model gives 50 L/min (3 m³/h) at 48 m of head, with a maximum working pressure of 8 bar, so do not leave it running against a closed outlet. Run the pump at least once a week, keep sand out of the water, and let a qualified electrician make the electrical connection.

Yes, a peripheral pump gives steady pressure at modest flow, which suits washing systems. Check the washer's inlet requirement against 50 L/min before you buy. Some washers want more than 50 L/min at the inlet, in which case a bigger pump or a break tank is the better answer.

What is in the kit?

The 0.55 kW peripheral pump, an automatic flow-control switch and a lead-out cable. Pipes, fittings and a foot valve are separate. The switch is mounted on the discharge side, so plan the pipe so the switch sits upright and dry.

Does it need maintenance?

Run it at least once a week so the impeller does not stick, keep abrasives out, and drain it in frost. Beyond that it needs very little. A strainer on the suction side prevents most failures. Replace worn seals before they leak into the motor.
