Overview

This 0.55 kW monoblock pump only is for installers and DIY users who already have a pressure switch or controller and need the pump itself. It delivers up to 92 L/min (5.5 m³/h) at 26 m head.

The single-stage centrifugal pump has a cast-iron body and motor support, a brass or stainless impeller and an AISI 304 shaft, with thermal protection in the winding. It is heavier at 13 kg than the lighter-body 0.55 kW model. If you want the switch and cable included, look at the kit in water pumps and booster pumps.

Where it works

Typical uses are replacing a worn pump on a farm tank line in the Free State, domestic pressure boosting, garden and sprinkler irrigation, and greenhouse water supply. Pair it with your own pressure switch. The kit version is 0.55 kW monoblock pump kit with flow switch, and a stronger pump is 0.75 kW monoblock pump, pump only.

Installation notes: mount the pump on a firm, level base close to the water source and keep the suction line short, airtight and rising gently towards the pump so air cannot collect. Fit a foot valve wherever the pump lifts water, and fill the pump body before the first start. Rated flow is 92 L/min (5.5 m³/h), so choose pipe sizes that do not choke it and keep the run as straight as you can. Size the cable and breaker for the motor, and let a qualified electrician make the connection.

Can I use it without a pressure switch?

Not for automatic supply. As a pump only, it runs when you power it. Add your own pressure switch or controller, or take the kit with the flow switch and cable already supplied. A simple pressure switch with a small pressure vessel will make the pump start and stop on demand without much fuss.

Will it fit where my old pump was?

Port and mounting sizes are listed on request, so send us the old pump details or a photo and we will compare. Power and performance are 0.55 kW, 92 L/min and 26 m head. Mounting-hole centres and port threads can differ between models, so measure the old unit before you order a replacement.

Can it run on a generator?

Yes, if the generator can handle the starting load of a 0.55 kW single-phase motor, typically a few times its running current. An inverter must be sized the same way. Long extension cables cause voltage drop and hard starts, so keep the lead short and use a heavy-gauge cable.
