Overview

The CPM170 is a 1.1 kW single-stage booster pump that gives up to 44 m head and 120 L/min through 1″ inlet and outlet ports. It is the step where a booster pump starts to cope with a large double-storey house, a long irrigation run or several taps open together. It is sold as the pump only.

The performance data shows 37.8 m at 20 L/min, 35.1 m at 40 L/min, 29.9 m at 60 L/min, 23.6 m at 100 L/min and 19.1 m at 120 L/min. The body is cast iron, the impeller is brass, the motor shaft is stainless steel 304 and the seal is ceramic-graphite. The single-phase 230 V motor has a capacitor and a thermal overload protector, with insulation class B and IP44. A rough guide is 10 m of head for each 1 bar, so pick a pump whose head at your flow is well above your lift plus pipe friction. Where it works

It suits large homes and lodges in Johannesburg and Pretoria with long pipe runs, small market gardens near Tzaneen that need a stable sprinkler pressure, and workshops or depots that boost a tank supply. It needs clean water without abrasive particles, and it must be installed under a vented cover, protected from rain and spray.
