Overview

The 1.5 kW i-Prez 15N is a complete booster pump system that holds pressure steady by adjusting pump speed to the water you are using. It is the bigger sibling of the 1.1 kW i-Prez booster pump system, with extra motor power for longer pipe runs, a second storey or several bathrooms running together.

A pressure transmitter watches the line and the built-in variable speed drive does the rest. The set comes with a horizontal multistage pump with stainless steel wetted parts, drive, pressure tank, 5-way connector with non-return valve and pressure gauge. Where it works

Use it where one pump has to feed a lot of outlets: a double-storey home in Gauteng, a guest lodge in Mpumalanga, a dairy wash-down line or a packing shed in the Western Cape where hoses and sprayers open and close all day. It also works as a pressure stage between a storage tank and a drip or sprinkler zone. With variable speed it avoids the hammering of a pressure switch cycling on and off, which is kinder to pipes and fittings. What is the difference between the 1.1 kW and 1.5 kW i-Prez systems?

The 1.5 kW motor gives more power in reserve for longer pipe runs, more outlets and higher demand, while the control, 1 to 9 bar pressure range and protections are the same. It is heavier at 23 kg shipped, against 15.9 kg for the 1.1 kW. Choose it when several taps or hoses run at once.

How much does delivery cost for the 1.5 kW i-Prez system?

Do I need a separate pressure tank?

No. A pressure tank is part of the system, together with the 5-way connector and non-return valve. The tank smooths small draws so the pump does not start for every drip. You still need clean water on the inlet and a sensible suction pipe size, and you should keep the pump out of rain and direct sun.

Will it run off an inverter during load-shedding?

It needs a 220 V single phase supply, and the motor load is 1.5 kW plus start-up surge. Only run it on an inverter or generator sized for that load. Ask us if you are unsure, and tell us your inverter rating so we can say whether the 1.5 kW or a smaller system is the better match.
