Overview

This 7 bar petrol engine water pump moves 420 L/min at up to 70 m head, so one person can fill a tank, run a sprinkler line or fight a veld fire without any mains power.

The 212 cc petrol engine produces 4.4 kW (7 HP), and the self-priming die-cast aluminium pump draws water in through a 40 mm inlet and pushes it out of a 25 mm outlet. Fit a foot valve and strainer on the inlet, and fill the pump body before the first start. Where it works

Petrol pumps like this are used by farmers in the Free State and Limpopo to move water from dams to irrigation sprinklers, and by fire protection associations to run hoses on veld fires in Mpumalanga and KZN. Contractors use them to fill water carts and tanks on remote building sites and de-water excavations of clean water.
