Overview

The Pascali DTP12V is a 12 V DC electric diaphragm pump (model 302FL40) that moves up to 17 L/min at pressures up to 2.8 bar. It primes itself, so it can sit above the water source, and it is built for intermittent use: camping, boating, and spraying cattle and game.

A built-in pressure switch starts and stops the pump as a faucet or spray gun is opened and closed. It can run dry for extended periods without damage, and a built-in thermal protector guards the motor. The four-chamber diaphragm uses a Santoprene diaphragm in a polypropylene body, with a 3/8 inch hose barb port.

Where it works

This is a bakkie-and-bucket pump. Farmers in Limpopo and the Free State use 12 V units like this to run a spray gun for dipping and tick control on cattle and game, drawing from a drum or tank on the back of a vehicle. It also suits caravans, boats and small off-grid jobs where only a battery is available. It is rated for intermittent duty, so use it in bursts rather than as an all-day transfer pump, and wire it with a fuse and adequately thick cable because it draws up to 9.2 A.
