Overview

This 0.37 kW peripheral water pump only is the smallest and lightest unit in the range, at 5.2 kg net, giving 34 L/min and up to 36 m head for garden taps and small domestic duty.

Since it comes without a switch, you will wire it to your own pressure switch or controller. Suction lift reaches 6 m with a foot valve, and the maximum operating pressure is 8 bar. A switch-equipped version is in water pumps and booster pumps.

Where it works

Common uses are garden taps from a water butt in Gauteng, camper and chalet supply, and pressure boosting for a single outbuilding in the Karoo. For a pump with the switch included, see 0.37 kW peripheral pump kit. A stronger pump is 0.55 kW peripheral pump, pump only.

Installation notes: mount the pump on rubber feet near the water source, with a short airtight suction line and a foot valve and strainer if it lifts water. This model gives 34 L/min (2 m³/h) at 36 m of head, with a maximum working pressure of 8 bar, so do not leave it running against a closed outlet. Run the pump at least once a week, keep sand out of the water, and let a qualified electrician make the electrical connection.

Questions about this product

Does this pump come with a switch?

No. It is the pump only. For automatic operation add a pressure switch or take the kit version, which includes a flow-control switch and cable. Choose the kit instead if you would rather not shop for a switch separately. Mount the switch on the outlet side, upright and dry, and wire it to match the motor.

Can it feed a garden hose reel?

Yes, at up to 34 L/min it feeds a hose reel or small sprinkler. It will not keep up with large irrigation blocks. Keep the hose short and the nozzle small so the pump does not run against a closed outlet for long.

What care does it need?

Run it at least once a week so the impeller does not seize, keep it free of sand, and drain it if frost is expected. A strainer on the suction line keeps grit out, which is the most common cause of peripheral pump wear.
