Overview

This 600 L IBC tank is a used food-grade container with an 80 mm outlet tap and a 160 mm filling lid. At 1200 x 800 x 1005 mm it is lower and narrower than a 1000 L IBC, so it goes where the bigger one will not.

The old supplier text called it a 1000 litre tank, which was wrong: this unit holds 600 L. It is sold as used, so ask us for current photos and the condition before you order, and clean it before first use. It suits smaller sites that still want a bulk container with a proper drain valve.

Questions about this product

Is this a 600 litre or a 1000 litre tank?

It is a 600 L tank. Some older listings described it as 1000 litres by mistake. The footprint is 1200 x 800 x 1005 mm, which is smaller than a 1000 L IBC. If you need a full 1000 L, look at our used or new 1000 L IBCs instead, and ask us if you want help choosing.

Do you deliver a 600 L IBC to Richards Bay?

Yes, we deliver with our own trucks to all nine provinces, including Richards Bay, normally in 1 to 3 days. Fees follow total order weight: up to 30 kg R550, 30 to 60 kg R950, 60 to 100 kg R1,450, over 100 kg on quotation. This ships at 48 kg, in the 30 to 60 kg (R950) band. You can add up to 12 kg of other items in the same band.

What size is the outlet and lid?

The outlet is an 80 mm HDPE tap and the filling lid on top is 160 mm across. A 160 mm lid is wide enough to reach in with a hand and a brush for cleaning. Ask us about adaptors if you want to connect a hose or a pump to the 80 mm outlet.

Can it hold drinking water?

It is sold as food grade, but it is used, so clean and sanitise it before use and ask us for photos first. We do not quote a food-safety certificate for this unit. For livestock water, irrigation or a household buffer tank it is a sound and affordable choice.
