Overview

The UPVC compact ball valve is a solvent weld ball valve that stops or restarts flow in a pipeline when you turn the handle. It is an inexpensive, easy alternative to brass or stainless steel ball valves and comes in five sizes from 20 mm to 50 mm.

Ball valves handle flow control and shut-off for water, corrosive fluids, slurries and other liquids. The supplier also lists gases, so check with us before using it on a gas line. What does solvent weld mean?

Solvent weld means the valve is joined to the pipe with solvent cement, which chemically fuses the UPVC into one piece. It gives a permanent joint with no threads. Cut the pipe square, clean it, apply cement and push it home, then let it cure before you pressurise the line.

Can I use it on slurry or corrosive liquids?

The supplier lists corrosive fluids and slurries among the uses for ball valves of this type. UPVC resists many chemicals, but compatibility depends on the liquid and its temperature, so tell us what is in your line and we will confirm before you order.
