Overview

The 50 mm compact PVC ball valve is the largest in our threaded compact range and handles 2 inch lines on main pump outlets, large tank outlets and irrigation headers. It has BSP threads, a quarter-turn handle and a maximum pressure of 16 bar.

PVC keeps it light and rust free, which helps when you are fitting a valve to a pipe that has to hang on a tank wall or manifold. It gives a quick positive shut-off at the head of a big line.

Where it works

Use it on 2 inch pump discharges, between a storage tank and a manifold, on pool and pond plant, and on farm water mains in Limpopo, the Free State and Mpumalanga. Always support the pipe either side. Heavy pipe hanging on a plastic thread will crack it over time. Seal with PTFE thread seal tape and tighten by hand plus a little. For smaller lines see the 40 mm compact ball valve. If you are running HDPE pipe, the single union ball valve connects directly. All are in pipe fittings.
