Overview

The M-50 (BT-M50) is a 2 inch diesel flow meter of the positive displacement type, reading from 38 to 550 L/min on a mechanical totalising register. It shares its cast aluminium body with the M-40 but takes 2″ pipework, which suits most small and medium road tankers.

Calibrated on site it holds about ±0.5%, and the body is rated to 10.5 bar. The register takes a ticket printer for dockets or a pulser for a fuel management system, so it can grow with your operation.

Because the same body serves the M-40 and M-50, spares such as gear plates and registers are shared, which keeps a mixed fleet simple to maintain. Plan for a strainer and air eliminator ahead of the meter, isolation valves on both sides and a proper bracket, since at about 24 kg it should not hang on the hose.

Where it works

This 2 inch diesel flow meter is the common choice on road tankers delivering to farms in the Free State grain belt, on depot loading points that fill bowsers and smaller tankers, and at mines and municipalities receiving 2″ deliveries.
