This is the standard yellow 40/50 mm threaded fitting used on water tanks, transport tanks and similar moulded tanks, supplied with a seal. It carries a BSP thread, and it is safe to use with diesel storage, which is why it is the usual choice for outlet ports on fuel tanks as well. The code is FITT40/50. Where it works

Replace a cracked or lost outlet fitting on a tank that has been moved or knocked, or fit a new port when you are building a gravity feed. Farmers in Limpopo and the Free State use it on diesel and water tanks that feed bowsers and pumps, and transport depots in Gauteng and Mpumalanga fit it to tanks on trucks. Contractors keep a few spare in the store. Because the thread is BSP, it mates with standard pipe fittings, so one part covers water and diesel lines. A 40 mm red fitting is the matching smaller port.
