Description

Overview

Steel cable tank tie downs hold a vertical tank steady, so wind or a knock from a bakkie cannot shift it. Each pack has 2 cables, ready assembled, so there is nothing to cut or crimp on site. You pick the pack that matches your tank, from 1000 L to 20 000 L, and the price rises with tank size. Browse more in our tank accessories range.

Where it works

Farm tanks standing in open veld in Limpopo and the Free State catch every gust with nothing to break the wind. Highveld storms on Gauteng smallholdings, coastal gusts in KZN and the Western Cape, and exposed mine camps in Mpumalanga put the same load on a tank. Schools, clinics and municipal depots use tie downs too, because a tank that shifts can tear its own connections. As with any vertical tank, secure it once it is full, and anchor the cables to something solid such as a concrete base.

Questions about this product

Which tie down pack do I need for my tank?

Choose by tank capacity. The nine packs cover 1000, 2200, 2500, 5000, 6000, 8000, 10 000, 15 000 and 20 000 L vertical tanks. If your tank sits between sizes or is not listed, send us its capacity before you order and we will confirm the right pack.

Do the cables come assembled?

Yes. Each pack has 2 cables, ready assembled, so you do not need to cut or crimp anything. You only need to choose solid anchor points, such as a concrete base, and fix the cables once the tank is full.

How much is delivery for a tie down pack to a farm?

Delivery fees follow total order weight: up to 30 kg R550, 30 to 60 kg R950, 60 to 100 kg R1,450, and over 100 kg on quotation. A pack ships at under 4 kg, so ordering it with your tank or fittings saves a separate delivery. Orders of R20,000 or more are free.
