Overview

This threaded reducing bush steps a 40 mm tank port down to 20 mm, so a standard 20 mm fitting can be connected to it. It carries a BSP thread and is the standard 40/20 mm bush on water tanks, transport tanks and similar rotationally moulded products. Code FITT40x20. Where it works

Most people use a 40/20 mm bush when they add a float valve to a tank, fit a drain-off, or run a small 20 mm take-off for a garden tap or irrigation line. The bush screws into a 40 mm tank port, then takes the 20 mm part. On farms in Limpopo and the Eastern Cape it is a common spare for stock-water tanks, and plumbers in Gauteng and KZN keep a few in the bakkie. Check your thread and port size against the tank before you order. A 40 mm red fitting with seal gives you the port to screw it into.
