Overview

The 40 mm compact PVC ball valve is the size for main pump outlets, dam and borehole feeds and larger irrigation headers. It has BSP threads, a quarter-turn handle and a maximum pressure of 16 bar, and the PVC body does not rust.

At 40 mm the flow area is generous, so the valve does not choke a good pump. A full-flow shut-off at the head of each section means you can work on a filter, pump or lateral without draining the whole line.

Where it works

Use it at the discharge of a farm pump, between a tank and a manifold, ahead of a sand or disc filter, and at the start of irrigation blocks in Limpopo, the Free State and the Western Cape. It also isolates pool and pond plant. Support the valve so the weight of pipe does not bear on its plastic threads, and wrap the thread with PTFE thread seal tape.
