Overview

The 40 mm red threaded fitting is the standard inlet and outlet connector for water tanks, transport tanks and similar rotationally moulded products. It comes with a seal and a BSP thread, so it bolts into the tank wall and takes standard pipe fittings. The code is FITT40. Where it works

Use it as a replacement when an old fitting has cracked, or as a new port when you add an inlet from a roof gutter, a borehole line or a municipal feed. On farms in Limpopo, KZN and the Eastern Cape, a tank often needs a second outlet for a trough or a garden tap. Plumbers in Gauteng and the Western Cape also fit it when they set up float valve connections. If you need to go down to a 20 mm line, pair it with the 40/20 mm reducing bush. For fuel tanks or a bigger outlet, the 40/50 mm yellow fitting is the match.
