Overview

This MA analogue control box is the standard starter for a 0.75 kW, 220 V single-phase 4 inch borehole motor. It carries the run capacitor, an on/off switch and thermal overload protection in one box. The design is deliberately basic, which keeps the cost low and makes a failed box easy to swap. Because the capacitor is sized for the motor, the box must match the motor’s kW rating. Kamano supplies it from Polokwane to all nine provinces.

Where it works

At 0.75 kW this box drives a mid-size 4 inch borehole pump on single-phase power, common for stock watering, garden supply and homestead water on farms in Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape. The MA box does not cut the pump when the borehole runs dry. If your borehole is low-yield, the 20Y intelligent controller, with dry-run, over and under-voltage and overload protection, is the better pick. Three-phase pumps use a Y1 or 30Y controller.
