The 3SD2/47 is a 3″ stainless steel submersible borehole pump set for narrow boreholes, supplied as a complete unit: the pump end, a 1.5 kW 220 V single-phase oil-filled motor with a 1.2 m lead-out cable, and an analogue control box. Connect your delivery pipe, cable and rope and it is ready to lower into any borehole with an internal diameter of 80 mm or more. Where it works

It is built for deep, low-yield boreholes where the water level is a long way down: farmsteads in Limpopo and Mpumalanga, and household supply pushed up to a header tank high on a slope. The steep curve gives high head at modest flow, so treat it as a deep-lift pump, not a high-volume one. Choosing the right pump is simple: add the depth to your water level, the height up to your tank and about 10% for pipe friction, then pick a pump whose head at your required flow is above that total.
