Overview

This solar borehole pump kit lifts water as high as 80 m on solar power alone, and it includes both the pump and the matching DC controller. The 3HR210-80 has a 210 W, 24 V DC brushless motor, a 304 stainless steel body and casing, and a rubber stator. It is built for off-grid or hybrid solar water pumping and fits boreholes, wells, rivers, dams and tanks with an internal diameter of 80 mm (3 inch) or more.

Where it works

Use it for stock water on farms in Limpopo and the Free State, for rural homes, small gardens and for filling tanks where there is no grid. It is recommended for water levels up to about 60 m, so pick a model rated 25 to 30 percent above your water level. It needs about 350 W of panels, for example one 400 W panel. The water must be non-corrosive, below 40 degrees Celsius, pH 6.5 to 8.5, with sand under 1 percent. For deeper water look at the 1200 W 3HR pump, and for a smaller option the 180 W LARS pump.
