Overview

The OGM-25 stainless preset flowmeter is a 1″ oval-gear meter with a stainless steel 304 body and a 12V DC batch controller. You key in the litres you want, start the pump, and the meter signals or shuts off at the set quantity. The stainless body is the reason to buy it: unlike aluminium meters, it suits AdBlue and mild water-based chemicals as well as diesel.

It forms part of our fuel dispensing equipment range. Pair it with the OGM-25 stainless electronic flowmeter or the M-80 strainer housing and air eliminator for a complete setup.

Where it works

Transport depots in Gauteng and along the N3 use a stainless preset flowmeter 12V on mobile AdBlue trailers and service bakkies, so each truck gets its exact top-up. Farmers in the Free State fit it to diesel trailers for repeat fills of planters and harvesters. Agro-chemical suppliers use it to batch mild liquid products into containers.

Fitting tip: put a strainer, and on bulk lines an air eliminator, in front of the stainless preset flowmeter 12V so that debris and air do not upset the count. Have the controller output wired to the pump relay or a solenoid valve so it can actually stop the flow, then run a test batch into a calibrated measure and adjust the factor before the first real fill.

Oval-gear meters measure by displacement: every turn of the gears passes a fixed volume, so the reading holds steady whether the fluid is thin diesel or heavier oil, and the flow pattern in the pipe matters far less than it does with a turbine meter.

Questions about this product

Can I run it off a bakkie battery?

Yes. This version runs on 12V DC, so you can wire it to a bakkie, tractor or trailer battery. Use a fused lead and a good earth. If your pump runs on the same battery, keep the engine running during long fills so the voltage does not sag and upset the controller.

Is it safe for AdBlue?

Yes. AdBlue attacks aluminium and some brass fittings, which is why this meter has a stainless steel 304 body. Use stainless or plastic fittings and hose rated for AdBlue on the rest of the line too. Rinse with clean water if the meter will stand unused for a long time.

How does the preset work?

You enter the volume on the controller, start the pump and the meter counts down as it measures. At the set quantity it signals, or stops a pump or solenoid valve that is wired to it. That gives repeatable fills without someone watching the screen, which saves fuel and arguments.
