Overview

The OGM-25 stainless steel flowmeter is a 1″ oval-gear meter with a stainless 304 body and a battery LCD register. It measures 12 to 120 litres per minute with a resettable batch and a lifetime total. Choose it over the aluminium meter whenever AdBlue or mild water-based chemicals go through the line, because stainless does not corrode the way aluminium does.

It forms part of our fuel dispensing equipment range. Pair it with the 3″ check valve for M80 and M100 bulk flowmeters or the OGM-25 stainless preset meter (12V) for a complete setup.

Where it works

Truck depots in Gauteng and KZN fit a stainless steel flowmeter on AdBlue IBC and tank dispensers so they can track usage per truck. Agri chemical stores in the Western Cape and Free State use it on liquid fertiliser lines, and municipal water works use it on mild dosing chemicals.

Fitting tip: always put a strainer before an oval-gear meter, since the gears run on tight clearances and grit is the main cause of jams. Mount the meter so the display faces the operator, follow the flow arrow cast in the body, and run a known volume through it after installation. Change the register batteries before a busy season so the totals are never lost.

Oval-gear meters measure by displacement: every turn of the gears passes a fixed volume, so the reading holds steady whether the fluid is thin diesel or heavier oil, and the flow pattern in the pipe matters far less than it does with a turbine meter.

Questions about this product

Why use stainless for AdBlue?

AdBlue is a urea solution that eats aluminium, copper and brass, and the corrosion products can contaminate the fluid and damage truck SCR systems. A stainless 304 meter body avoids that. Pair it with an AdBlue-rated pump, hose and nozzle so the whole line is compatible.

Can it also do diesel?

Yes. Stainless handles diesel, biodiesel and paraffin as well. Many depots buy one stainless meter so they can move it between AdBlue and diesel. Flush it thoroughly before switching fluids, because even a little diesel in AdBlue can upset an SCR system.

What about strong chemicals?

It suits water-based and mild chemicals. Strong acids, solvents and some fertiliser mixes can attack the seals or the plastic register head. Send us the product name and concentration and we will confirm whether this meter is right, or suggest a dedicated chemical meter.
