Overview

This 3LARS1.0/50-24/180 is a small solar borehole pump that lifts up to 50 m on just 180 W and 24 V DC. It works like a progressive cavity pump, with a rubber stator and a rotor, so it delivers a steady flow and pressure rather than a flow that collapses as the head rises. The pump body, casing, shaft, coupling and motor housing are stainless steel, with 100 percent copper windings and graphite bearings, and the brushless motor needs no maintenance. It fits boreholes, wells, rivers, dams and tanks of 80 mm internal diameter or more.

Where it works

Use it for stock watering on farms in Limpopo, the Karoo and the Northern Cape, for rural households and small gardens, and for topping up tanks. It runs from one 250 W panel (24 V) or one 330 W panel (36 V). The family of LARS pumps lifts up to 110 m, but this model’s limit is 50 m.
