Description
Overview
This 10 L stainless steel measuring jug is the can you use to check whether a pump or meter is delivering what it says. It is made from 304 stainless steel, with 316 available as an option, and graduated every 10 ml in grade 3 with a 0.1% tolerance. The opening is 75 mm wide, so it fills cleanly from a nozzle. You dispense into the jug, read the sight glass against the graduations, and compare the result with the meter. A 10 L measure suits tests on dispensers and small bowser meters, where a bigger can would be awkward to carry and pour.

Where it works
Forecourts in Gauteng, KZN and the Western Cape use measuring jugs for routine dispenser checks. Farms in Limpopo and the Free State check bowser meters before the season, and mine workshops in Mpumalanga use them on service bays. A broken sight glass can be replaced with the replacement glass tube. If you need a larger measure, see the 20 L stainless steel measuring jug. The rest of the kit is in our fuel station accessories range.

Questions about this product
What is a measuring jug used for at a forecourt?
It is used to check pump and meter accuracy. You dispense a set volume into the jug, read the level against the graduations, and compare it with the meter. This 10 L jug has 10 ml graduations and a 0.1% tolerance, so it shows small errors that a customer would never spot.
Why stainless steel for fuel work?
Stainless steel does not rust, resists fuel and cleaning chemicals, and keeps its shape, so the volume stays accurate. This jug is 304 stainless steel, with 316 available if you need it. Wipe it clean and store it dry after use so residue does not affect the next reading.
How much is delivery to a forecourt in Mbombela?
At 5.4 kg this jug is in the first band: R550 for total orders up to 30 kg. Orders from R20,000 VAT incl. ship free. Our own trucks deliver from Polokwane to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days, and Mpumalanga is a short run from us.
