Description
Overview
This pneumatic control block uses compressed air to open and close the foot valves on a multi-compartment road tanker, and this version handles six compartments. The aluminium body takes 6 mm push-in air lines, so connections are quick to make and break. It works at 0.3 to 0.6 MPa, which is 3 to 6 bar, and across a temperature range of -20 to +50 C. Tankers with fewer compartments need the smaller block, so count your compartments before you order. We list the weight as approximate, because the supplier gives 3 kg for both the unit and the box.

Where it works
Fuel tanker operators in Gauteng and KZN, bulk haulers serving Mpumalanga mines and Limpopo farms, and municipal fleets all rely on the control block to keep compartment valves working from the cab or the rack. Cold mornings on the Highveld are inside the rated range. For tankers with four compartments, use the 4-compartment control block. For the loading connection, see the 4 inch female API coupler. More parts are listed in fuel station accessories.

Questions about this product
What does a pneumatic control block do on a tanker?
It uses compressed air to operate the foot valves on a multi-compartment road tanker. Each compartment has its own control, so the driver or loading operator can open and close compartments independently. This block has six compartment controls and takes 6 mm push-in air lines.
What air pressure does it need?
Working pressure is 0.3 to 0.6 MPa, which is 3 to 6 bar, and the stated operating temperature is -20 to +50 C. Make sure your tanker's air supply is regulated within that range, and have a competent technician fit and test the block before the tanker goes back into service.
Is the 6-compartment block the right size for my tanker?
Pick the block by the number of compartments on the tanker. This one is for six; we also list a 4-compartment block. If your tanker has a different count, or you are not sure how the air lines are laid out, send us a photo of the existing block on WhatsApp.
