500 W Solar Pool Pump, 11,000 L/h, 13 m Head, 42 to 96 V DC

Description

Overview

This 500 W solar pool pump runs directly from photovoltaic panels and moves up to 11,000 litres an hour against a maximum head of 13 m. An MPPT control box tracks the panel output and feeds the motor the best power available, so the pump speeds up in full sun and eases off under cloud.

It suits swimming pools and ponds where you want circulation without paying Eskom for it, and it keeps running through load-shedding as long as the sun is up. Solar panels are not included.

Key features

• Permanent magnet brushless motor, built for low energy use
• Speed range 500 to 4000 rpm, set automatically by the available sun
• MPPT control box that makes the most of the panel power
• NSK bearing with alloy mechanical seal
• Soft start, plus over-voltage and over-current protection
• Automatic stop and 40 mm discharge

Where it works

A solar pool pump 500W set-up is a good fit for farm and lodge pools in Limpopo, Mpumalanga and the Northern Cape, where the sun is strong and grid power is unreliable. It also circulates koi ponds and water features, and runs pool filters in the day when you need them most. Size your panels to the 42 to 96 V DC window and 17 A maximum current. Pair it with a filter such as the Superflo Q120 sand filter, or browse the pool and pond pumps range. For mains-powered circulation see the Eco VSD Pro 18 variable speed pump.
