Overview

This 20Y controller is built for a 0.55 kW single-phase borehole motor on a 220 V supply. It keeps an eye on the motor and switches it off before a fault turns into a burnt winding. A 0.55 kW pump usually lives at a modest borehole for household and garden use, and these boreholes are exactly the ones that run dry when the water table drops.

Compared with a plain analogue control box, the 20Y is the safer option for most 220 V sets, because the analogue box only holds the start capacitor, switch and thermal overload.
