Description
Overview
This 180 L concrete mixer is a 220 V electric drum mixer that turns sand, stone, cement and water into an even concrete or mortar mix. You load the drum, let it turn, then tilt it to pour straight into a wheelbarrow or mould.
It suits small brick-making yards and building jobs where hand mixing on a board slows everything down and wastes cement. Because it runs off a standard single-phase plug, you can use it at home, on a farm or on a site with a small generator. At about 64 kg it fits on the back of a bakkie. If you need bigger batches for a block yard, step up to the 350 L electric pan mixer.
Key features
- 180 L drum for mortar, plaster and general concrete
- 220 V single-phase electric drive
- Tilting drum with hand wheel for controlled pouring
- Steel frame on wheels so one person can move it
- Quieter and cleaner to run than a petrol mixer
Where it works
A 180L concrete mixer is the workhorse of RDP extensions, boundary walls and farm buildings. Small brickmakers in Limpopo villages use one to feed an egg-layer or a static block machine, and plasterers in Gauteng townships use it for consistent plaster on bigger jobs. Farmers mix concrete for kraal floors, water troughs and borehole slabs. Pair it with a heavy-duty static brick machine for a starter block yard. Browse all our concrete mixers.

Questions about this product
Will a 180 L mixer keep up with a brick machine?
For a small egg-layer or a single static machine making a few hundred blocks a day, yes. Each batch is roughly a barrow load. If you are running two machines or making thousands of blocks a day, a pan mixer with a bigger batch will save your crew a lot of waiting.
Can I run this mixer off a generator?
Yes. It is a 220 V single-phase machine, so a petrol generator of suitable size will drive it on sites without Eskom power or during load-shedding. Ask us for the motor rating and we will tell you what size generator to use so it starts cleanly under load.
How much is delivery to a farm in the Free State?
The mixer ships at about 66 kg, which falls in the 60 to 100 kg band at R1,450 to anywhere in South Africa. Our trucks leave from Polokwane and usually arrive in 1 to 3 days. Spend R20,000 or more including VAT and delivery is free.
What is the difference between a drum mixer and a pan mixer?
A drum mixer tumbles material in a rotating drum and tips to pour, which suits mortar, plaster and general concrete in small batches. A pan mixer uses paddles in a flat pan and handles stiff, dry block mixes far better, which is why block yards prefer them for production.
