Overview

The 220V version of the OGM-25 stainless preset flowmeter is built for fixed installations: a 1″ oval-gear meter in stainless steel 304 with a mains-powered batch controller. Key in a volume and it stops or signals at that quantity. Because it runs from a wall plug, it suits a filling bay, store or plant room rather than a trailer, and the stainless body makes it at home with AdBlue.

It forms part of our fuel dispensing equipment range. Pair it with the OGM-25 stainless preset meter (12V) or the OGM-25 stainless electronic flowmeter for a complete setup.

Where it works

Fleet yards in Gauteng and KZN put a stainless preset flowmeter 220V on fixed AdBlue stations next to the diesel pumps. Chemical and agri suppliers in the Western Cape use it to fill 25 L containers to the same volume every time. Mine stores in Limpopo fit it in their bulk lubricant and additive rooms.

Fitting tip: put a strainer, and on bulk lines an air eliminator, in front of the stainless preset flowmeter 220V so that debris and air do not upset the count. Have the controller output wired to the pump relay or a solenoid valve so it can actually stop the flow, then run a test batch into a calibrated measure and adjust the factor before the first real fill.

Oval-gear meters measure by displacement: every turn of the gears passes a fixed volume, so the reading holds steady whether the fluid is thin diesel or heavier oil, and the flow pattern in the pipe matters far less than it does with a turbine meter.

Questions about this product

Do I need surge protection?

We strongly suggest it. Load-shedding switch-overs and lightning on long rural lines cause surges that can damage the controller. A plug-in surge protector or one on the distribution board is cheap insurance. If you run off a generator, let it settle before you start a batch.

Can it switch my pump off?

Yes, when it is wired to do so. At the preset volume the controller gives a signal that can drop out a pump contactor or close a solenoid valve. Have an electrician wire it to your pump starter. Without that wiring it simply signals at the set quantity and you stop the pump yourself.

What is the difference from the 12V model?

Only the power supply. The 220V version is meant for fixed stations with mains power, while the 12V version runs off vehicle batteries for trailers and bakkies. The stainless meter body, flow range and accuracy are the same, so choose the one that matches where it will be mounted.
