Overview

This Trio panel controls and protects a pump motor up to 7.5 kW, the larger of our two Trio panels. It works on the Motorscope principle: it measures the power the motor draws and lets the pump run only while that power stays inside a safe range. A reading outside the range points to a fault such as a dry-running pump or a blocked line.

You calibrate it on site. Run the motor under normal working conditions, press the calibration button with the jumper in place, and the panel stores the safe limits for that system. It also checks continuously that the supply is correct and stable. An RS232 output links to the Optimizer or a PC for finer settings and fault detail, and the Optimizer holds the last 43 motor stops.

Where it works

Deep borehole pumps in Limpopo and the Northern Cape, irrigation pumps on Free State and Western Cape farms, and dewatering pumps at Mpumalanga coal and Limpopo mines all run for long hours with little supervision, which is when load protection pays off. For motors up to 5 kW, the smaller Trio panel costs less, and the Motorscope alone suits existing starters.

Delivery and warranty

Kamano delivers with its own trucks from Polokwane to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days, including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Polokwane, Rustenburg, Klerksdorp, Kimberley and Emalahleni. Shipping weight is 10 kg, so this item sits in the R550 (up to 30 kg) delivery band. Delivery fees are set by total order weight: up to 30 kg R550, 30 to 60 kg R950, 60 to 100 kg R1,450, and over 100 kg on quotation. Orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.) are delivered free.
