Overview

This kerb mould is a form for making precast concrete kerbs with the wet casting method: you pour a flowing mix into the mould, vibrate it, let it set and remove a finished kerb. It gives builders and precast yards a cheap way to produce their own kerbing.

Kerbs sell steadily to paving contractors, municipalities, estates and homeowners edging driveways and gardens. Casting your own means you control quality and are not waiting on a factory. What kerb sizes does this mould make?

We have not listed the exact profile and length yet. Kerb shapes vary between road kerbs, mountable kerbs and garden edging, so please ask us before ordering and we will send the dimensions of the mould we have. That way your kerbs match what your customers specify.

Can I cast kerbs without a vibrating table?

You can tap the mould and rod the mix by hand, but a vibrating table gives far better results. It removes trapped air and brings a smooth paste to the surface, so the kerb is denser and looks better. Most small yards add a table once orders pick up.

How much does delivery cost to Polokwane or Tzaneen?

The mould ships at about 24 kg, which puts it in the up to 30 kg band at R550 anywhere in the country, including Limpopo towns like Tzaneen. Our own trucks deliver from Polokwane, normally within 1 to 3 days. Orders of R20,000 or more including VAT ship free.

How long before I can strip the kerb?

With a wet mix and normal weather, most yards strip the next morning. In winter on the Highveld allow longer. Keep the kerbs damp and covered for several days after stripping so they reach full strength before you stack or sell them.
