Overview

The PP reducing nipple is a threaded polypropylene fitting that connects a larger LDPE pipe to a smaller one, so a line can step down from, for example, 25mm to 20mm. A nylon insert gives it a strong mechanical grip and a leak-resistant seal. It keeps flow smooth through the change of size and makes extending, modifying or repairing an irrigation or water line quick. What is the difference between a reducing nipple and a reducing socket?

Both join two pipe sizes. The nipple is a threaded male-style fitting, while the socket takes a pipe in each end with a compression grip. Which you need depends on your existing fittings, so check what the ends of your pipes and valves look like.

Are other size pairs available?

The seven sizes above are what we sell on this page. The supplier notes also list 32 x 15mm and 32 x 20mm codes, but those are not offered as options here. Ask us if you need them, and we will check.
