Overview

The PP reducing socket is a polypropylene compression fitting that joins two different sizes of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) pipe in the same irrigation or water line. A nylon insert and a precision compression design give a strong mechanical seal that copes with low and high pressure irrigation systems. Because it is a socket, the pipe goes in at each end, so you can expand, modify or repair a line without changing flow or reliability. Agricultural and landscaping installers in Limpopo, Mpumalanga and the Western Cape use reducing sockets to step a main line down to laterals. Municipalities and domestic plumbers use them on reticulation, and pump installers use them to match a borehole delivery line to tank feed pipe. Suitable for above-ground and buried installations. Cap spare pipe ends with the PP male plug, or consider the PP reducing nipple for threaded joins.

The largest socket ships at 0.2 kg, so it adds almost nothing to the weight of an order. Delivery is charged by total order weight (up to 30 kg R550, 30 to 60 kg R950, 60 to 100 kg R1,450, over 100 kg on quotation) and is free on orders of R20,000 or more, VAT incl.
